Where to find GE Vortalex 4 blade fan 1949 replacement parts Motor switch cords - Dryers question. Search Fixya. 3/16' for a GE Vortalex fan. I have a GE vortalex with only 1 brass oil cup on the front. On the rear under the oscillating mechanism, there is a sort of a freeze plug.

It looks like the Decorative Quite Blade endured through the 1939 model year. I had no idea and thought it was a short lived fan of maybe a year or two.
I have seen several of the 1941 style QB fans. At first I thought it was a Vorty with a QB installed in place of the Vorty blade but such is not the case as you can see by the arrangement of the motor and cage strut differences between the Vorty and QB models of 1941. I am assuming that the 4 blade 12' Vorty was offered in 1941 along with the last of the QB fans. These four QBs plus a second cage design 10' QB and 1947 8' and 10' Vorty oscillators are my newest fans. Everything else is black with lots of rust, dust, patina, etc. The way I like them, especially very rusty. (Don't believe what some say). I would have thought (and have thought) that the change in grill design was made on all models in one year.
